Sarah Bolger's career began at the tender age of 5, when she won a place at the Young People's Theatre Co. Less than a year later, she was chosen to star alongside some of Ireland's leading actors in "A Love Divided" (Sid McCartney). Her breakthrough role came in 2001, in Jim Sheridan's film, IN AMERICA (where she starred alongside her real life sister, Emma Bolger). For her performance, the 10 year old Sarah won world-wide acclaim, as well as nominations as "Best Newcomer" at the Independent Spirit Awards and "Best Cast Ensemble" from the Screen Actors Guild.
More recently, Sarah starred alongside Andie McDowell in TARA ROAD (Gillies MacKinnon, 2005), with Mickey Rourke in STORMBREAKER (Geoffrey Sax, 2006) and in THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES (Mark Waters, 2008). In 2008, she was cast in the critically acclaimed Showtime television drama, "The Tudors", as Princess Mary. For this role Sarah won the IFTA Award (Irish Film and Television Award) for Best Supporting Actress in the Television category.

Jury's comment: "The jury recalled how impressive she was in her teenage years, in Jim Sheridan's IN AMERICA in 2003. Her charisma continues to light up each new film, and clearly she has the world at her feet."
