Orsi Tóth graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Drama and Film in 2004. During her time at the Academy, she began a long-standing collaboration with director Kornél Mundruczó when she took on the lead role in PLEASANT DAYS. Her performance won her several awards including "Best Supporting Actress" at the 22nd Hungarian Film Week and "Best Actress" at the IFF Angers and Cinessonne, both in 2004. This success led to her roles in Mundruczó's other films: JOAN OF ARC ON THE NIGHT BUS, JOHANNA (which garnered Orsi three "Best Actress" awards at international film festivals) and SHORT LASTING SILENCE.
Her work with Mundruczó has also been presented on stage in productions at the Kretakor Theatre, the Hungarian National Theatre, and at the Wiener Festwochen, among others. Orsi has worked extensively in film in 2008, and can be seen in three new productions: WOMEN WITHOUT MEN (Shirin Neshat, 2008), the Cannes FIPRESCI award-winning DELTA (Kornél Mundruczó, 2008) and LOURDES (Jessica Hausner, 2008).

Jury's comment: "In DELTA Orsi Tóth radiates a profound intensity that impressed the jury. She brings her unique gifts as an actress to each new role and endows her characters with a special intensity."
