Former SHOOTING STAR and this years jury member Thure Lindhard in Formentera by Ann-Kristin Reyels

06.02.2012

Europe's best young actors to be presented 11 – 13 February at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival

Ten of Europe’s most exciting young actors will be showcased in this year’s SHOOTING STARS 2012 at the imminent 62nd Berlinale. Two of them are starring in films in the festival´s programme: Swedish star Bill Skarsgård can be seen in The Crown Jewels by Ella Lemhagen, selected for Berlinale's Generation 14plus. Ana Ularu, our Romanian SHOOTING STAR 2012, can also be seen in Diaz - Don’t Clean Up This Blood by Daniele Vicari, screened at Panorama.

In addition to this year’s selected actors it is exciting to see a number of former SHOOTING STARS also appearing in films at this year’s festival.

A Royal Affair by Nikolaj Arcel, to be screened in Competition stars no less than three former SHOOTING STARS: Danish participants David Dencik (2007) and Cyron Melville (2009) as well as Alicia Vikander, Swedish participant 2011, who can also be seen in The Crown Jewels. Selected for Competition, The Shadow Dancer by James Marsh  (UK/Ireland) has two former SHOOTING STARS in the cast: Andrea Riseborough (UK) and Domhnall Gleeson (Ireland) both SHOOTING STARS in 2011.

Thure Lindhardt, Danish SHOOTING STAR 2000 and member of this year’s SHOOTING STARS jury has become a globally recognised actor and can be seen at the Berlinale in the US film, Keep The Lights On by Ira Sachs, (Panorama), as well as German film, Formentera by Ann-Kristin Reyels, (Forum).
