Successful presentation of Europe's Best Young Actors at the Hamptons

12.10.2010

Three of European Film Promotion's (EFP) 2010 SHOOTING STARS have been showcased on tour with their latest films at the Hamptons International Film Festival (October 7-11) in the USA.

Zrinka Cvitešić from Croatia (On The Path), Anaïs Demoustier (Sweet Evil) from France and Pihla Viitala (Bad Family) from Finland were presented collectively with the three other participants of the Breakthrough Performers Program Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Jessica Chastain (The Debt), and Brittany Robertson (The Family Tree). Financial backing for the presentation of the European stars came from the MEDIA Programme of the EU. The Breakthrough Performance Program is designed to raise the profile of outstanding young actors from around the world.

During a lunch, US star Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada, The Lovely Bones) as mentor of the program enjoyed to explain important aspects of the acting profession. Furthermore, the young actors took part in a panel discussion and had several meetings with acclaimed members of the American film industry.

The Touring SHOOTING STARS Programme, a follow-up-event to SHOOTING STARS 2010 at the Berlin International Film Festival, puts a spotlight not only on the actors and actresses but also on their films. The event includes screenings of the participants’ latest films, as well as personal meetings with directors, producers, writers, and prominent industry executives.

Dedicated to honour outstanding new talent from around the world, the Hamptons International Film Festival has continued its partnership with European Film Promotion into the third year.
