The annual meeting place of the newly selected SHOOTING STARS is the Berlin International Film Festival. Besides the festive awards ceremony for the stars, the young actors participate in a three-day programme of events organised by EFP in close cooperation with the Berlinale and other partners.

In Berlin's landmark Schlosshotel Grunewald a photo shoot took place, followed by a welcome dinnerfor international guests. At a press conference the SHOOTING STARS 2010 were introduced to the international media at a press conference.

During a pitching session the SHOOTING STARS 2010 met with international casting directors; and international producers and film directors were their dialogue partners at aProducers Lunch (in cooperation with Studio Babelsberg and Commerzbank). In an intimate athmosphere they took the opportunity of making contact with the film branch.

The highlight of the event is the presentation of the SHOOTING STARS AWARD on the big stage of the Berlinale Palast. With the 'Maria', a statue created after the figure in Fritz Lang's famous METROPOLIS, donated by Studio Babelsberg, the Berlin Film Festival honours the artistic achievement of the young actors. Mentor this year was Stellan Skarsgard, together with czech actress and Shooting Stars jury member Ana Geislerova.

From the beginning of the initiative the SHOOTING STARS have been supported by some of the film world's leading stars and directors. Among those who have acted as presenters during the awards ceremony on the stage are Ben Kingsley, Jeanne Moreau, Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Doris Dörrie, Dennis Hopper, Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett.
