European Film Promotion - EFP

The innovative network of European promotion and export organizations

The EUROPEAN FILM PROMOTION network brings together 35 national promotion and export organizations from 36 European countries. Since its founding in 1997 EFP has occupied a key position in the worldwide promotion of European cinema and its talent.

EFP's aims:

  • to strengthen the presence of European films at international markets
  • to support European filmmakers at international markets
  • to create new markets for European films
  • to expand the sales possibilities for European films
  • to network and exchange professional skills within the European film scene

EFP concentrates on international market opportunities for European films and the young filmmakers who are already established in their home countries and need support on the international level. With SHOOTING STARS at the Berlin film festival and PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE in Cannes, EFP has sensitized the international press and public to take greater notice of European films and the artists working in this field.

EFP receives generous support from its member organizations, from the EU's MEDIA Programme, the Centre National du Cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC) and private sponsors. The Hamburg EFP administrative office is further supported by the Minister of State for Culture and Media as well as the Ministry of Culture of Hamburg.
